The Bozzuto Family Bozzuto’s, Inc. was founded by Adam J. Bozzuto in June of 1945. For 60 years Bozzuto’s has served Independent retailers with the same integrity and attention to detail that Adam J. Bozzuto founded the business on. Bozzuto’s Inc. began in a building on Mill Street in Waterbury, Connecticut and then moved to Freight Street in Waterbury. In 1955, Mother Nature struck fiercely, creating a flood so devastating that it completely destroyed the warehouse. Adam Bozzuto didn’t let that get in the way of business. In thirteen days, Bozzuto’s was back in operation and delivering product. Bozzuto’s moved to its present Cheshire, CT location at Schoolhouse Road in 1963. In 1972 and 1975, as business continued to grow, so did the warehouse, which grew to 256,000 square feet. Today, Bozzuto’s is lead by Michael A. Bozzuto, Adam’s son. Jayne Bozzuto, Adam’s daughter, is a vice president. The company operates over a million square feet of warehouse, with regional offices in Massachusetts, New York, Maine and Pennsylvania, serving over 700 retail locations.
